The West Virginia School Of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) is nationally recognized as a leader in producing primary care physicians for rural West Virginia and the rest of America.
The school has been ranked as one of "America's Best Medical Schools" by U.S. News and World Report for 14 consecutive years. In addition, WVSOM has been independently ranked by Academic Medicine as number one in producing primary care physicians who practice in rural areas.
One of the School's missions is to care for West Virginians and, therefore, our focus is on those diseases that affect our state the most—heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. WVSOM's faculty is utilized in this television project as consultants and on-air experts to make sure that the information delivered is factual and current.
